EBA Data Sources:
Named Institution Data

Unlike the ECB Data Portal — which publishes aggregates — the European Banking Authority (EBA) discloses bank-by-bank data for over 100 major EU institutions. This guide maps every key EBA data source, what it contains, how granular it is, and how to access it.

Pillar 3 Data Hub — Launched January 2026

The EBA's centralised Pillar 3 Data Hub went live in January 2026. For the first time, standardised Pillar 3 disclosures from large EU institutions are available in one place with bulk download and interactive comparison tools. Full dataset (June, September, December 2025 reference dates) expected by mid-2026.

⚙️ How EBA Data Works

KEY DIFF

Named vs Aggregate

EBA publishes institution-level data; ECB publishes system-level aggregates. Use both for complete picture.

FORMAT

CSV / XLSX / XBRL

Transparency Exercise and Stress Test results download as flat CSV. Pillar 3 Data Hub uses XBRL-CSV format.

TIMING

Annual / Bi-annual

Transparency Exercise published annually in November/December. Stress tests in odd years (2025, 2027…).

TOOL

Interactive Dashboard

EBA provides built-in bank comparison tools at eba.europa.eu — no download needed for quick lookups.
